A.I. duPont Hospital - Rockland Lab
Location: Alfred I duPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, DEThe Rockland lab project for A.I Dupont Hospital involved complete interior demolition of the second floor of an existing office building. One third of the project involved creating a new state of the art research lab, which included approximately 30 lab stations and work areas. One feature of this project was the installation of a new 40’x 12’ air handler unit, which was placed on the building’s roof. Since the existing building was previously used as office space, a new steel structure needed to be installed on the roof and attached to the existing building steel skeleton. Much of the rest of the floor was fit out as lab support and office space, which included a new cafeteria and reception area.
