Senior Living
Peninsula United Methodist Homes (PUMH)
Location: Greenville, DE
The Wesley Wing was a 5,000 square foot building addition to the existing dementia wing. It involved a dining area and kitchen facility, along with renovation of approximately twelve resident rooms. Some of the special features of this project included the use of alternating finishes such as siding and simulated cast stone in the corridors to give the residents a point of reference. Outside of each resident room was a memory box where the residents could place objects that they would recognize to identify their rooms. Security had to be maintained at all times and security keypads were installed on all new doors to prevent the residents from wandering. The project was completed without incident.
Cokesbury Village
Location: Hockessin, DE
This project was a renovation of approximately fifteen resident suites and the adjacent corridor. The rooms were converted from studio-type resident room to a suite including a family room, kitchen and bedroom. The bathrooms were updated with new plumbing fixtures and showers. New cabinets were installed in the kitchens.
Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation Center
Sunbridge is an elderly healthcare facility where residents are more prone to sickness and infection. With this in mind, all areas that we worked in were sealed off to protect the residents. The project consisted of 16 resident room renovations, new nurses station, and new corridor flooring. This project occurred while the facility was still fully functioning. Mold and mildew were discovered during the renovation, and the situation was addressed with all the proper protocol to rid the area of this problem. There were no safety or infectious incidents during the entire project, and the end products made residents and staff quite happy.
